I have been giving some thought lately to the pencils I am using and whether there is much of a quality difference among the better brands.   I have mostly used Derwent pencils, mainly because that's what was available at my local art supply store. I have been reasonably happy with them.  I can't find them locally any more so I was about to buy some online but wanted to explore my options before making a purchase. Would love to hear from as many people as possible about what brand pencil they use and why they think it's the best?  Does anyone really find a big difference from one brand to the next (of the better brands that is)?  Any and all

I Give Up!

0 min read
Not that anyone hangs on my words, but some may have noticed I have been absent of late.  I want to briefly communicate two things.  First, I am sorry to those who have sent me any kind of communication over the last couple months and I have not responded.  It's not any type of snub.  I feel guilty because I really do enjoy keeping with up my friends here on DA.  So, to those I chat with or regularly comment on - Cynthia (you're first on this list for a reason), David (drew), Jackie, Chris, Rick (recently discovered twin separated at birth), Jen, Karen, Kim, Sarah (Della), Julie & Stevo - my sincere apologies, love ya'll!  I fully understand

Copyright?

0 min read
I haven't written a journal entry in almost a year.  I have slowly been getting back into a little more activity on DA and so I thought I would send this out. Does anyone know, or has anyone done the research about copyright issues?  A friend who is a professional writer asked me on another site if I had concerns about posting a WIP drawing of a celebrity due to copyright laws.  What's the scoop on this?  People are drawing well known celebrities by the hundreds everyday here on DA, doesn't seem to be a big issue.
