Baby The German Shepard by brianv948 Baby The German Shepard by brianv948
This is something totally new for me. This dog is owned by a customer of mine. The dog has been by her side through some serious illnesses and means a lot to her. I thought I would bless her with this drawing. Besides, I have wanted to try drawing an animal for a while.

Many of you probably already know this, but drawing animal fur is harder then it looks. I have a renewed respect for Paul Lung!

Excellent. His/her eyes are so alive and beautiful. Yes, fur is extremely difficult to draw. You did a very good job on and around the head and neck. I would not have the patience to make sure each and every pencil stroke is going exactly in the right direction. You did a great job and your customer will cherish this forever. :iconheartsignplz:

Thank you very much! I experimented with a little with something unusual, I used white out for the highlights. Really helped add some pop!

Your gallery is top notch!!

Thanks again!

My Dad just started wood carving at age 74! Uses a dremel like tool like you have. He's actually done some really nice stuff for just playing around - he just dove right in on nothing but instincts.

Maybe I'll see if he can send a pic of one that he's completed, I'll post it here on DA. Keep an eye out.

Thanks Karen, it's been a very long time since I've had anything to show. I'll be giving it to her tomorrow, she doesn't know about it so I think she'll be very surprised!

PS - heading to Pickwick this weekend!
